Kid-Friendly Thanksgiving Recipes
Thanksgiving tables are usually filled with rich, savory dishes…but if you have little ones, you know that sometimes none of that actually gets eaten. Toddlers and picky eaters can feel overwhelmed on the holiday, and having a few simple, colorful snacks available makes such a big difference. These fun Thanksgiving-themed recipes are easy to prep, festive on the table, and made with everyday ingredients your kids already love.
If your child mainly eats fruit and crackers on Thanksgiving—these ideas are perfect to set out before the big meal or alongside the main dishes so they always have something familiar to enjoy.
Below are five of my favorite kid-friendly Thanksgiving ideas, each one fast, colorful, and designed to make the holiday feel fun and pressure-free for little eaters.
1. The Turkey Fruit Tray
This sweet turkey fruit platter is always a hit. Use whatever fruit your kids already enjoy—berries, apple slices, melon, berries, or pineapples —and arrange them in rainbow layers around a pear or apple turkey "body." Add candy eyes or mini chocolate chips for a cute face, and you have an easy, fresh snack that feels special and keeps kids (and grown-ups) happily snacking while dinner cooks.
It’s also a lifesaver for toddlers who love fruit and might not eat much of the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
2. Mini Turkey Hummus Cups
These individual cups are great for kids who like dipping. You can buy the snack sized cups or fill small bowls with hummus, then add a red pepper or mini pepper "turkey body" and fan out veggie sticks behind it for the feathers. I used carrots, bell peppers, and cucumber slices. Add little eyes and a tiny beak, and you have the cutest snack cups that double as a healthy appetizer.
3. Kids’ Turkey Snack Plate
This turkey snack plate is a big impact for low effort —just layer chopped fruit, veggies nuts, crackers, or cheese in feather sections across a plate and place a pear “turkey” at the bottom. It’s bright, fresh, and perfect when you want q colorful snack for the kids without much prep.
4. Turkey Quesadilla Plate
This is my go-to for lunch on Thanksgiving week or to serve to kids that won’t eat anything else on Thanksgiving. Make a quick cheese quesadilla, cut it into a half-circle, and add veggie sticks for the feathers. A small triangle of bell pepper and two candy eyes turn it into the cutest little turkey. Kids love helping assemble this one, and it’s a fun way to get a few extra veggies in too.
5. Pumpkin Pie Rice Krispie Treats
This no-bake dessert is a kid-favorite and comes together in just a few minutes. We made ours with gluten-free cereal, vegan marshmallows, and natural food dye, but any Rice Krispie mixture works. Press it into a round pan, add a lighter Rice Krispie “crust” around the edges, and pipe little dollops of whipped cream on top. Slice it like a real pie and serve—no oven required!
Why These Ideas Work for Kids
All five of these recipes are:

Made with familiar ingredients toddlers and picky eaters already recognize
Fun and festive without added sugar overload
Great for snacking before or after the big meal
If Thanksgiving mealtimes tend to feel a little unpredictable, having a few cute options like these on the table can make the day so much easier for everyone—especially the littlest guests.
Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy these kid-friendly ideas! 🧡
