Thanksgiving Turkey Fresh Fruit Tray
A fresh, colorful snack board that picky eaters actually love.
If you’re looking for a kid-friendly Thanksgiving snack that feels festive and takes almost no time to make, this little turkey fruit tray is perfect. It’s especially great for toddlers or picky eaters who may not touch much of the traditional Thanksgiving meal but will happily eat fruit all day long. And if you want to make your holiday morning easier, you can absolutely use store-bought pre-cut fruit—this entire tray comes together in minutes.
I love the rainbow “feathers”—the layers of berries, melon, and pineapple look so pretty on a Thanksgiving table and add such a fun pop of color next to all the warm, cozy dishes. The turkey body is just a pear, with strawberries for feathers and two little cantaloupe sticks for legs. It’s playful, sweet, and something kids will run straight toward when they walk in the door.
What You’ll Need
Use whatever fruit your family loves, but here’s what I used for this exact tray:
Blackberries
Blueberries
Honeydew
Pineapple
Cantaloupe
Strawberries
1 pear (for the turkey body)
A tiny bit of strawberry or cantaloupe for the beak + wattle
Two candy eyes (or mini chocolate chips)
How to Assemble
Start with a round wooden board or a large serving platter.
Place a pear at the bottom center for the turkey body.
Build your rainbow “feathers” from the inside out: strawberries → blueberries
Add two small strips of cantaloupe for legs.
Use a fruit scrap to make a beak and wattle, then add the candy eyes.
Adjust fruit pieces as needed to fill any gaps and create a full fan shape.
Tips
If making ahead, assemble up to 2 hours before serving and keep refrigerated.
Add toothpicks for older kids to make grabbing fruit easier.
Swap in whatever fruit is on sale or in season—this design works with almost anything.
This is one of those ideas that looks impressive but is truly so simple. Set it out before the big meal, and you’ll have happy little snackers (and less “I’m hungry!” while the turkey cooks).
Let me know if you make this! I love seeing your versions.
