Blue Lemonade
Dye-free Blue Lemonade
Easy Blue Lemonade (Refined Sugar-Free & Kid Approved!)
Looking for a fun and refreshing drink to make with your kids this summer? This Blue Lemonade is always a hit at our house! Not only is it bright and beautiful, but it's naturally sweetened with honey and colored with blue spirulina instead of artificial dyes.
My kids love squeezing the lemons and watching the magical transformation when the blue spirulina mixes into the rest of the lemonade. It's the perfect drink for backyard playdates, summer parties, or simply cooling off on a hot afternoon.
Why We Love Blue Spirulina
Blue spirulina is a natural blue pigment derived from spirulina algae. Unlike artificial food coloring, it provides a vibrant color while also offering nutritional benefits.
Some potential benefits of blue spirulina include:
Rich in antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress
Contains phycocyanin, a natural compound known for its anti-inflammatory properties
Naturally free from artificial dyes
An easy way to make foods and drinks more fun for kids
Plus, a little goes a long way to create that gorgeous ocean-blue color!
